Cody Hill and CHill Guide Service

Hi, I’m Cody Hill, owner of CHill Guide Service based out of the Pelican Rapids Minnesota area. We mainly fish Otter Tail and Becker Counties. I grew up in the Frazee/Vergas area and have been fishing the area for almost 30 years.

During the summer season I target walleye, crappie, blue gill, and bass but also offer amazing rainbow trout trips.  It is not uncommon for us to have multi species trips to capture prime time action by different species with the goal to make the day be as fun as possible for my boat guests.  During the winter I offer mainly crappie and blue gill trips but in the late ice season I offer tullibee and burbot (eel pout) trips and again it’s not uncommon for us to target multi species in a day trip.

I have a degree in Natural Resources from University of Minnesota-Crookston, and I use my education and knowledge in Ichthyology to put customers on top of fish by matching our bait presentations to their food source.

As a teaching guide, I can coach you on techniques and presentations. It is my mission to help you produce more bites and hopefully catch more fish. I’ll be openly communicating WHY we are doing things, so when you leave our trip, you’ll have more confidence on your next solo (or guided) fishing adventure.

On a personal note,I am a boat captain and coach for the Heart of Lakes High School Fishing League.  When I’m not guiding, I enjoy teaching and helping people who might not normally be able to get out fishing. That brings me some of my greatest joy and moments.  I am also an active supporter of Women Anglers of Minnesota, Brady Oberg Legacy Foundation, and Ole’s Ride.
